Description:
Our client specializes in marketing healthy snack foods.  Originally founded in 1912 and headquartered in California, they are a leader in their branded market sector.  Continued growth has resulted in the need for a Packaging Professional.Position:  Packaging Engineer·         Work with the go to market team to develop packaging solutions that meet the defined needs and minimize costs.  This will include package development and floor automation.·         Work with cross functional teams across multiple locations and departments including, marketing, sales, operations, logistics, accounting, finance, and information systems to bring new products to market and reduce packaging costs.  Carry out deliverables assigned to support the team goals.·         Supply the technical expertise required to make the above projects successful. Reports to: V.P of Operations in interim, then the Sr. Director of Engineering
 
Requirements:
Role Requires:  B.S. Degree in Packaging Engineering or other technical field.

Experience:  5 Years minimum of experience.·         Work with fiberboard, corrugated, laminated films, and metal and plastic rigid containers to accomplish the above.·         Execute projects to accomplish the above which includes developing project timelines, qualification programs, and test plans, providing feedback to the team and making adjustments as needed, and meeting desired results.·         Identify, develop, and implement cost savings initiatives as related to packaging designs and materials and plant automation.·         Work closely with Maintenance and Engineering to determine best practices for filling, sealing, cartooning, casing, and assembly.·         Travel to vendor and manufacturing locations for support of packaging project activities.
