successful growth to this day. With their strong legacy they are seeking an experienced packaging professional
to lead packaging initiatives as shown below: Position: Manager, New Packaging Development The Manager, New Packaging Development will be an individual with a degree
in Packaging that has the ability to lead in project management of new packaging designs and initiatives. He,
or she, will be able to implement a “Stage-Gate” methodology for new packaging designs and developments and will
work as a project manager in a high speed, high volume, and consumer foods business. The position will
not have any direct reports initially. The ideal candidate will understand the process for packaging development
and function as the lead package designer/developer for a multi-disciplinary corporate level, R&D team. He,
or she, will understand a process for Packaging Methodology. And will be responsible for the hands-on design,
development, pilot testing, scale-up, commercialization and post-launch analysis for packaging initiatives across all business
segments: industrial, foodservice and consumer. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: ·
Familiarity with Stage-Gate process for managing
new product development. · Be a creative force with individual initiative that will contribute new and innovative packaging. ·
Collaborate with sales and marketing to gather
packaging concepts and ideas from a variety of inputs: focus groups, market trend analysis research, customer needs and outside
consultants. · Rapidly prototype new packaging concepts based on above information, which is often preliminary. ·
Modifies packaging prototypes based on market
feedback, then leads their development and commercialization in coordination with multi-disciplinary corporate R&D team. ·
Manages external resources: contract manufacturers,
material and equipment vendors and consultants to deliver cost-effective solutions for packaging initiatives. ·
Develop economic cost models for new packaging
and adjust packaging to meet price point models. · Provides collaborative leadership to cross-functional internal teams (Supply Chain, Operations,
QA) to ensure seamless execution of packaging initiatives including packaging and materials specifications. ·
Serves as R&D team liaison to Operations
for projects involving optimization of packaging equipment . · Ensures consistency of all documentation and specifications for both
internal and external use. · Experience with a variety of packaging formats including flexible and rigid containers. ·
Evaluate emerging packaging trends and technologies
for fit with corporate strategy. · Familiarity with FDA food labeling regulations. ·
Ability to meet aggressive business timelines
within budget. · Position requires approximately 20% travel. · Required to report physically to the prime work location; also required
to visit other company facilities Position results have direct impact on operations of entire company.

Role Requires:
B.S. or M.S. in Packaging Engineering required.
Prefer consumer foods background in a high volume, high speed packaging
environment. Could possible consider a Pharmaceutical products packaging experience if it was high speed,
high volume and similar packaging materials and processes.
Experience: 7-10 Years of successful, comprehensive experience in packaging design, development and engineering (post-education).
Does not require prior management experience as this position will not have any direct reports. Skills and Abilities: Must
have demonstrated and proven track record in developing and commercializing new packaging. Proficiency
in state-of-the-art packaging design software. Intermediate-level user of MS Office applications, particularly
Word and Excel, and able to learn Company software. Prior experience with PeopleSoft would also be nice to have.
Requires creative and original thinking to develop solutions to unusual or major problems where decisions greatly affect
major management considerations. This person will be an individual who does their homework to really understand
the packaging needs and what solutions will be effective. |
