DESCRIPTION - PRIMARY DUTIES:

Our client is a specialized provider of integrated logistics services to global industries, with a Fortune 500 customer base. They provide highly customized end-to-end logistics and supply chain solutions critical to our customer’s success. Their solutions are designed to achieve maximum flexibility and agility to meet changing requirements.  Continued growth has resulted for the need for an Engineering Manager, Packaging.  This particular division will support international initiatives in China and South America which are key growth areas for the company!  

Position:  Engineering Manager, Packaging
The Engineering Manager, Packaging will manage the activities of the Engineering Department and direct 5-6 engineers, including two packaging engineers, two industrial engineers and one process engineer. The department logistical packaging activities include design, verification, documentation, and procurement. The department is also responsible for productivity and space utilization improvements in support of the facility operations. The Engineering Manager regularly interfaces with the customer on operational and commercial issues. He/she is also responsible for any quality issues associated with the performance of the packaging.  This is a plant location where there are 200 hourly and 30 salaried employees.  There will be no travel required as well. 

Reports to: Plant Manager

 
REQUIREMENTS - IDEAL BACKGROUND:
Role Requires:  B.S. in Packaging or in a related field required.   

Experience:  5-7 Years related work experience required.  At least two years in management of people. 

Required Skills/Knowledge:   The successful candidate will be able to lead a team and manage multiple projects on a schedule.  Skill is customer interaction both internal and external is required.  In addition, they will have good communication skills both written and oral and be able to bring about a cohesive team effort by their subordinates.  They will have knowledge of manufacturing, packaging, processes and facility operations.
