a Principal packaging Engineer.
Position: Principal Packaging Engineer The Principal Packaging Engineer will be an integral member of the Packaging R&D
team committed to the development of enabling technologies that drive breakthrough new packages, cost savings and/or core
renovation initiatives, particularly in the area of polymer based packaging science. Especially, the individual will need to have a very strong and
concentrated area of knowledge in blow molding technologies.
Duties and Responsibilities:Partners with Business Units, Operations, Sales, Procurement,
Customers and Suppliers to identify and develop enabling packaging technologies that address key consumer and customer needs.
In addition the Principal Packaging Engineer: - Supports several
projects across multiple business areas that encompass the full range of material and packaging technologies, focusing on
polymer based packaging technology development and optimization.
- Provides Packaging
leadership across the complete project lifecycle from opportunity identification to launch; including development strategies,
design solutions and technical plans, scouting for external capabilities, conducting experiments and plant trials, documenting
work, collaborating with cross-functional teams and communicating results.
- Drives project
assignments focused on developing enabling technologies for longer-term, breakthrough new products and packages, core business
renovations and large-scale cost savings initiatives.
Optimizes material requirements, specifications
and testing procedures to assure efficient production line performance. - Provides guidance
on facility setup, operating parameters, maintenance conditions and machinery tooling/equipment design.
- Attends manufacturer and plant trials to assist in evaluation and problem resolution.
- Performs additional duties as assigned.

| | REQUIREMENTS - IDEAL BACKGROUND: | Role Requires: B.S. Degree required, Masters Degree strongly preferred in Engineering – Chemical, Polymer Science
or Mechanical.
Experience: 12 Plus Years experience of progressively responsible project leadership experience
in polymer based package development. Essential Qualifications: Deep technical knowledge of the formulation and behavior of polyethylene, polypropylene and polyester polymers used in food
packaging. It is preferred that the strongest emphasis will be a focus on blow mold technology
and less on injection. In addition the ideal candidate will have: - Experience must include development of specialized
packaging resins, the use of additives to modify polymer properties, the conversion of resins to packaging materials through
extrusion blow molding, stretch blow molding, injection molding and thermoform horizontal
form/fill/seal technologies.
- Experience must include development of specialized packaging resins, the use of additives

- Strong understanding of theory and functionality
of packaging systems and individual unit operations.
- Expert level experience with blow mold packaging materials, machinery,
operations and troubleshooting.
- Strong understanding of relationships between packaging materials, packaging equipment,
product and people, including sensory attributes and product/package interaction.
- Experience with rigid and flexible materials
manufacturing and converting (blow molding, injection molding, thermoforming, sheet and film conversion).
- Practical material, quality
testing experience.
- Experience with manufacturing, maintenance, machine design/modification to improve operating and packaging
forming consistency.
- Demonstrated ability to apply the tools of statistics, problem solving and decision making; Six Sigma
or other polymer industry certification preferred.
- Advanced knowledge of PC-based spreadsheet and analysis tools.
- Ability to travel both domestic and internationally ~10-25%.
