a Senior Packaging Professional to join their team!
Position: Senior Packaging Technologist The Senior Packaging Technologist will identify, develop, and commercialize innovative
and cost effective packaging designs in support of Consumer Product (CP) Brand and Channels initiatives. In
addition, he, or she, will provide technical support at all points in the supply chain to resolve packaging design/material
related issues.
Principal
Accountabilities:
- To develop, specify, and commercialize innovative packaging designs in a timely fashion
in support of CP Brand and Channels initiatives.
- To minimize the cost of packaging
components via design optimization and qualification of alternate suppliers and materials.
- To
improve the functional performance of packaging designs with respect to supply chain handling and consumer usage requirements.
- To develop and maintain accurate and complete specifications for all packaging components for assigned brands/SKUs
- To provide technical support at all points in the supply chain to resolve packaging design/material related issues.
- Maintain a close liaison with Quality Assurance and Marketing to evaluate technical and marketing data for assistance
in resolution of quality or marketing package related problems.
- Quality: assure that
all packaging will maintain the desired shelf-life of the product while maintaining structure integrity on-line and through
distribution and handling.
- Profitability: strive for minimal package cost through package
system, equipment and supplier evaluation.
- Marketing: Assure that the package meets
the desired marketing objective.
- Regulatory Requirements: Ensure that all packaging material
meets Federal, State and Local Government regulations.
- Specifications: Assure that
that the established specification, ensure quality of product.
- Communication: Assure
comprehensive communications of product and packaging developments and activities to all concerned.
Reports to: Manager of
Packaging Engineering
| | REQUIREMENTS - IDEAL BACKGROUND: | Role Requires:
B.S. in Package Engineering or related engineering field.
Experience: 6-10 Years of related
professional experience with a strong preference for Consumer Foods based package development.
Essential Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will have a knowledge of package materials, packaging manufacturing processes and other qualifications
will include:
- Demonstrated experience in project management.
- Self-starter, capable of managing a portfolio of project assignments with minimal supervision.
- Strong interpersonal skills and oral/written communication skills.
- Good problem solving and mechanical aptitude.
- Working
knowledge of Computer Aided Design (CAD)
