to their overall profitability. Continued growth has resulted in the need for a Packaging Engineer to join
their team.
Position: Packaging Engineer
Principle Accountabilities:
- Apply new and existing packaging technologies to new products, line extensions, and line
maintenance programs.
- Research and evaluate materials and components
for the development of cost effective, high-quality packaging, including flexible, rigid, and aerosol packaging.
Willing to gain knowledge in technical areas as necessary.
- Develop
appropriate risk assessments, project plans and maintain effective communication for each program.
- Provide a technical resource and interact with various groups to develop packaging that meets program objectives.
- Provide technical assistance to correct package-related problems to maintain production
schedules and product quality.
- Establish a broad scope of contacts
to maintain awareness of current trends and to aid in the development of package components.
- Develop/update packaging specifications and bills of material via SAP Product Lifecycle Management (PLM).

| | REQUIREMENTS
- IDEAL BACKGROUND: | Role Requires: A minimum of
a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Packaging or (Packaging, Mechanical, or Materials).
Experience:
1-5 Years of experience
in a consumer products or related industry.
Preferred Skills/Qualifications: - Strong technical
expertise in multiple packaging disciplines; dispensing systems, materials, closures, manufacturing line requirements, plastic
molding techniques and product/environment compatibility.
- Experience and technical competency in primary, secondary and tertiary packaging design and qualification (e.g.
product/environment compatibility, distribution and environmental testing, manufacturing qualification).
- Demonstrated problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to progress multiple projects concurrently.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Knowledge
of consumer testing techniques and execution of appropriate studies to evaluate product performance during use.
Considered a plus if candidate has experience
and technical competency in: - Aerosol technology; filling,
labeling, testing and components.
- Dispensing devices
(electrical and non-electrical).
- Glass manufacturing and/or high speed filling of glass containers.
- Project Management systems experience (e.g. SAP Product Lifecycle Management, Matrix One, MS Project).
