Position: Manager, Pharmaceutical Packaging Engineering
As a Senior
member of the Packaging Engineering Team, the Manager, Pharmaceutical Packaging Engineering will be responsible for supporting
the commercial packaging operations. The successful candidate will have experience developing packaging solutions for a variety
of therapeutics in diverse delivery formats as well as significant experience leading cross-functional teams in the packaging
design, validation, development & launch of commercial pharmaceuticals. In addition, the Manager of Pharmaceutical Packaging Engineering will: - Lead the definition of packaging project requirements
both externally and internally.
- Establish new procedures & systems as needed.
- Troubleshoot packaging operations & maintain
relevant metrics for all packaging projects keeping a keen eye towards opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Coordinate
the specification, installation, utilization, qualification, and improvement of equipment used for packaging solid dose and
liquid bottle products, products in blister packages, and sterile products.
- Provide technical & professional guidance
and leadership within the Packaging group.
- Support the commercial packaging operations at multiple internal and contractor manufacturers’
locations to ensure uninterrupted product supply.
- Develop new printed components with labeling operations department.
| | REQUIREMENTS - IDEAL BACKGROUND: | Role Requires:
Bachelor’s degree in Packaging Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
Experience: 8 Plus Years of experience relevant experience in high volume pharmaceutical operations
especially cold chain & sterile experience. In addition, the ideal candidate will have: - A
thorough understanding in the selection and identification of primary and secondary package components, materials, and delivery
systems.
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Solid experience leading
cross-functional teams.
- A natural orientation towards execution.
- Strong knowledge of
GMP standards and regulatory filing requirements and guidance documents (i.e. SUPAC, PACPAC).
- Demonstrated ability
in designing packaging specifications, developing packaging batch records, qualifying and validating packaging processes,
and resolving technical issues with component suppliers and contractor facilities.
- Be proficient in MS Office applications
with proficiency in computer-aided design (CAD) is a plus.
- Must be willing to travel to packaging sites both domestically and internationally.
