DESCRIPTION - DUTIES

Headquarters are located in Wisconsin and manufacturing facilities are in Wisconsin;, Arkansas and New Jersey. Montville, They do business in over 50 countries and employ over 2000 Associates worldwide. Position can be located in either Wisconsin or Arkansas.


Position: The Senior Development Scientist–Packaging Engineer will provide technical leadership in innovation, design, molding and commercialization for injection molded packages and parts coupled with product development, product and process validation, commercialization and business support The Senior Development Scientist–Packaging Engineer, will collaborate and work with other members of Product Management to understand future packaging needs as well as Operations, Global Engineering teams to define project scope, success criteria, project transitions and timelines as well as providing critical technical direction to injection molded plastic suppliers and internal resources to ensure commercialization success of projects. This individual will develop the protocols for qualifying new vendors, molds and injection molded parts and direct trials at suppliers and in house converting. This position will not supervise other employees at this time.


Essential Accountabilities:

·        Innovate and develop new and improved injection molded plastic packages.

·        Work closely with package design firms and injection molded suppliers.

·        Plan and direct project activities, trials, and discussions with raw material suppliers.

·        Provide internal project updates and manage project timelines and expectations.

·        Perform package, production molds, suppliers and converting process validations.

·        Create & edit package and part specifications.

REQUIREMENTS - BACKGROUND

Education:  Requires a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Engineering (Packaging Preferred).. 


Experience:  There needs to be a minimum of 10 years molded plastics experience from design through commercialization required.  Experience should include one or more of the following: familiar working with outside package design firms, knowledge of molded plastic qualifications, product and process validation, developing new package concepts and optimizing of existing products. Desired Qualifications: 

  • Formal training in molded plastics and package design using current design software is highly preferred.
  • Must have the desire and ability to work independently, be self-directed and resourceful within the molded plastics industry.  
  • Travel of up to 25% will be required, including international travel.
