This role will be shop floor based. The successful candidate will work beside another Engineer but would look over the equipment outside of thermoforming. Eventually they would cross train and be each other’s back up. One of the keys for this role is that the best type of person will be one that comes with their own tools and will be able to do machine adjustments and recommendations.

DESCRIPTION - DUTIES

Position: The Application/Process Engineer will perform engineering and product development work. Implement the manufacturing of new products/new processes at Company.  He, or she, will assure that new products meet customer expectations.  In addition they will be the technical expert for appropriate manufacturing processes.


Essential Functions:

·        Design and install new manufacturing processes to support business growth and efficiency improvements.

·        Oversee and support line trials; Provide SOC details and documentation to Engineering Department.

·        Train or coordinate the training of operators in using the new manufacturing processes. (This includes assistance in developing SOPs.)

·        Document the quality capabilities and limitations of the new manufacturing processes.

·        Focus on Packette, Tube and Vial production lines utilizing existing equipment and suggesting alternative technologies when needed.

·        Review, design and implement alternative dispensing methods for our fragrance and cosmetic lines.

·        Review and recommend plant layout improvement opportunities.

·        Undertake other special projects at the direction of the Director, Engineering.

·        Contact equipment and material suppliers in order to achieve above duties/responsibilities.

·        Take action to assure confidentiality of company’s proprietary equipment, materials, and processes.


Additional Responsibilities:

·        Support and be back up for other Application/Process Engineer

·        Fill in for Director, Engineering as needed.

·        Assist Maintenance Departments with equipment problems.

·        Other duties, as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS - BACKGROUND

Education:  Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Technical field, preferably in Packaging, Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering  Would consider an Associates Degree with adequate and fitting experience.


Experience:  Requires a minimum of 5 years experience in Engineering or Maintenance in packaging/filling processes.


Requirements and Attributes:

  • Must be able to work on the manufacturing floor and comfortable making machine adjustments.
  • Must be detail-oriented.
  • Must be mechanically inclined.
  • Attention to safety when working around production equipment.
  • Must have a strong knowledge of manufacturing equipment for the industry.
  • Knowledge of pumping and dispensing equipment.
