A "
Dave Wolfe Memorial Scholarship"
was established shortly after David's untimely death in June 2006. In the first two years there were enough
contributions to the Memorial Fund to allow us to send two aspiring young cyclists to the
John Howard School of Champions where David once attended.
Joseph Kukolla was the first recipient and he is now a CAT One rider (The Highest level as was David), and he is racing for the U.S.
National Team in Europe. Joseph is hoping to one day have success at the highest level and maybe even
do the Tour de France.
Abby Cooper attended the school after Joseph and she continued to race in California as an elite cyclist for two years doing
very well! Recently, she joined
Giant Bicycle and is their global women's product developer! I know that David would be/is proud to have these two fine young
cyclists affected so positively by him and his scholarship.
